Because on an alpine house, dogs have been part of life since ages.

Your hosts, a German-Swiss entrepreneurial couple, have extensively and lovingly renovated the old alpine house in 2023 and thus saved it from decay. If weather and time allows, we regularly invite our guests to barbecues in the lodge's garden in summer, and fondue evenings in the cozy farmers' room during the winter season. Personal warmth is very important for us. We will personally welcome you to the Almchalet, give you information about the house and the region and of course there is also a welcome drink for the "big ones" and the "little" guests. We are happy to give you tips for ski tours, excursions or hikes, and organize restaurant reservations or tours with the National Park Rangers for you. As a nature-loving and mountain sports-loving host, we know all insider tips and will be happy to advise you on planning your vacation activities. On request, you can also book our legendary gourmet wine tasting with lodge sommelier Uli, a theme evening with products from the farmers of our region or a seafood and oyster dinner at a 5-star level on site.

Mountain hikes, mountain bike tours and, in midwinter, snowshoe and ski tours are possible right from the front door. The Heiligenblut-Grossglockner ski area is about 15 minutes by car. Your children and your dogs can play and run around to their heart's desire. Because there is no car traffic here anymore, behind us there is only forest and nature. Nevertheless, you can reach the village of Sagritz in around 10 minutes via the hiking trail, where there is a tavern, shops and, in winter, a ski bus stop. In summer there are countless opportunities for hiking, climbing and adventure tours in our mountains, no matter whether a cozy family hike or high alpine challenges on the approximately sixty 3000-meter summits around our high valley. The Almchalet Goldbergleiten is an official partner of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Our guests can take part in exclusive and exciting mountain and nature trips with the rangers of the national park. There are special events for children that bring them closer to the world of mountains, animals and forests. By the way, the name "Goldbergleiten" comes from the Goldberg group massif, at the foot of which our mountain chalet is located and where gold and silver mining was still actively carried out until a good 100 years ago. Even today, our guests can try their hand at panning for gold in the summer; definitely with realistic chances of success.
