Dating from 1592, this traditional hotel is located in the pedestrian zone of Abtenau, 500 metres from the ski area. The Goldener Stern offers rooms with free WiFi access and free parking. Each room at Hotel Goldener Stern has a bathroom with a hairdryer. Most have a balcony. Bathrobes are available at an additional charge. The rustically furnished restaurant serves traditional Salzburg cuisine and international dishes. The in-house pastry shop offers a wide range of homemade desserts and ice-cream. An internet terminal can be found at the bar. Hotel Goldener Stern has a large garden with a natural swimming pond and views of the Tennengebirge mountains. Spa facilities include saunas, a steam bath, an infrared cabin, a relaxation room and a vitamin bar. All year round, a guest card is included in the room rate offering reductions and special offers in the region. The Hallstein Salt Mine, Salzkammergut and Werfen Castle can be reached by car in 30 minutes. The free ski shuttle stops 100 metres away and takes guests to the Dachstein West Ski Area, 15 minutes away. The Postalm Ski Area is 12 km from the hotel.
