Quiet rural setting with easy access from both Launceston Airport (75 mins), and the Spirit of Tasmania (20 mins) on a direct route to Cradle Mountain just 1 hour away. Loads of great walks within 30 minutes, including Mount Roland. Only 15 mins from cafes, shops, et al, in Sheffield, Latrobe and Devonport. On 12 acres, with great views and a large spring-fed dam, 'Spiritwood' is ideal for a couple plus room for one more on the comfy sofabed. The whole of NW Tasmania is within reach to explore.
I moved to Tasmania early in 2020 with my six horses and one cat and found myself in the North West, locally known as Nature's Outdoor Art Gallery. I love watching my horses thrive here in this fabulous climate and find the spectacular landscape inspiring in so many ways.
Lower Barrington is a rural region with apple and cherry orchards offering seasonal produce for sale. There are a number of local vineyards and 'Truffledore' truffle farm just round the corner. Lake Barrington is a mere 30 minutes drive with the famous 'Tasmazia' on the way. Explore the charming mural town of Sheffield with its variety of cafes, spectacular views of Mt Roland and loads of great bush walks and mountain bike trails within minutes. Spiritwood is a popular launching pad for day trips to Cradle Mountain (90 minutes) and other spectacular areas of the north east. Independent transport is essential.
