In the 14th century, there was only a three-room farmhouse, with its floor accessible at the back by a rounded staircase. One must imagine a large pond in the present lower part of the garden, as well as a water mill, on its dike, now disappeared. Only the miller's house and the fountain remain from that time, along with a drinking trough and a wash house on the neighboring property. In 1419, Saint Vincent Ferrier, the great Dominican preacher, came to rest at the manor and left his name to the fountain.
