The cottage is just half a mile along a very quiet country lane from the beautiful and quaint village of Finchingfield, one of the prettiest villages in England, with its pubs, antique shops and tea rooms. The village also boasts a much photographed, quaint village green complete with duckpond. Easily accessible from London (1hr) and Stansted Airport (20mins), the cottage gives a cosy base from which to explore the beautiful countryside and enjoy the charming walks in the area. The cottage is set up with everything that you need to be a home from home, with a range of kitchen equipment, fluffy towels, travel cot and high chair. The cottage is all on one level, making it accessible for all of the family. It boasts a bright sunny lounge, an airy kitchen, a beautiful bathroom and a fully-fenced, south-facing garden complete with BBQ. We welcome well behaved dogs so that all the family can enjoy their stay! The spacious master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, a set of drawers and a full length mirror. The second bedroom has twin single beds and a small set of drawers. There is a large, traditional bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. The cottage is surrounded by fields with a large selection of beautiful off-road walks. Finchingfield was part of the Tour De France route in 2014 and the country lanes provide miles of picturesque road cycling routes.

Acorn Cottage is currently a 'Guest Favourite' on Airbnb - one of the top 10% of properties on that site. Catherine lives on site in a barn on the same complex. She is on site in case you need any help, but will otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. While not hosting holiday homes, Catherine writes children's books, and you can even purchase one of her award winning books during your stay should you wish!

Acorn cottage is just a short stroll from Finchingfield, one of the prettiest villages in England. It boasts three lovely pubs all of which serve great food, two quaint tea rooms, a wonderful duck pond and village green. For families there is a play park, a football pitch and a tennis court in the village. The cottage is well place to explore the beautiful local market towns of Thaxted and Saffron Waldon, or for those looking a little further afield, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester and London are all within easy reach. Stansted airport is just 20 minutes away.
