Relax and enjoy this beautiful Irish barn conversion that dates back 200 years. Converted in 2023, this old Irish traditional barn is just 10 miles from Belfast and 2 miles from the busy market town of Comber. The cottage is cozy, comfortable and warm due to underfloor heating. We have a large enclosed garden with a patio, gas bbq and chiminea. There’s lovely country and sunset views. From the cottage, you can walk along safe country roads for miles and into comber. Surrounding Comber we have the lovely Strangford Lough and there’s lots to see and do around the Lough. We hear there are 365 islands on the Lough and lots of Lough walks, bars and restaurants close by. Enjoy the cottage with our high speed WiFi, board games and smart tv.
We are Karen and Alastair, we live on site down the lane in the farmhouse. We are close by to help with any recommendations but the cottage remains private and not overlooked. We both have full time jobs and our cottage is our hobby and we love welcoming guests from all over the world.
We are just two miles from the lovely market town Comber. We've got lots near us, country walks, sailing, forests, lough walks, country market, cycling, small villages and we are close to Belfast City. We are just a few miles from Strangford Lough, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; there's lots to do around the lough and beautiful walks and drives cafes, pubs and activities. We are close to some amazing National Trust Properties, Mount Stewart (11 miles), Castleward (Game of Thrones in 21 Miles). The Game of Thrones Studio Tour is just 30 miles away, the Titanic Museum is 11 miles, Giants Causeway and the Jurassic North Coast is just 70 miles away. Bramble Cottage is in the country and a car would be helpful, although there is safe walking and cycling for miles around lovely country roads. You can easily walk into the nearest village in 20 mins and to Comber is just 40 mins where there are bars, cafes, restaurants and shops. You can walk/cycle to Belfast City Centre safely along the Comber Greenway (mostly traffic free route), this is a lovely 10 mile route which starts in the Country in Comber, goes through East Belfast (home of CS Lewis and Titanic) and through the Titanic Quarter to Belfast City Centre. Nearest buses are in Ballygowan and Comber There is ample secure parking and we have storage for Golf Club, Bikes, Camper Vans etc.
