Islay House is a beautiful, Victorian home in the peaceful village of Pencaitland. Ideally situated for accessing Edinburgh or the golf courses, towns(like North Berwick) and beaches of East Lothian. The accommodation forms the East Wing of our home and has its own front door, private garden and gated driveway. The house has a fully equipped modern kitchen, Wi-Fi, 55 inch Smart TV with Netflix and Prime. The village has 2 shops, Petrol Station, a Gastropub, and the Glenkinchie Whisky distillery. There are plenty walks and cycle path on your doorstep. Perfectly located for going into Edinburgh in car, bus and train(stations nearby). We allow One pet only. There is a charge of thirty pounds. Please let me know if this is the case. We kindly ask that you refrain from leaving your dog alone during your stay. Dogs can experience anxiety and stress when left alone in unfamiliar surroundings, and we want to avoid any potential distress for your furry friend.

From our front door we have access to miles of woodland walks and off road cycle paths. The Spar shop is great for picking up your fresh morning rolls and papers. We now have a new Gastropub-The Winton opened in July 2022. The 100 seat restaurant and pub is an asset to the village-the food is yummy and they take dogs. Booking recommended. Opposite the restaurant is Winton Castle, where you could enjoy wine tasting, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting, off road driving and other out door pursuits. Whiskey lovers will enjoy a tasting tour at the award winning Glenkinchie distillery which is a short walk from our house. The gardens are beautiful and the elevated restaurant has panoramic views. The historic market town of Haddington is nearby for larger shops, exceptional restaurants and pubs. There is a direct bus(113)from Edinburgh There is a circular route(123) that goes to Haddington via Gifford. There is a direct train from Waverley to Newcraighall-10mins from Pencaitland. There are a few good train stations near by for travel. Longniddry station is nearby
