Situated on a leafy country road within easy reach of local shops, cafes, takeaways, country pubs, public footpaths and public transport, this cosy period cottage is full of character. Guests can reach Brighton and Eastbourne in 40 minutes, Tunbridge Wells, Glyndebourne and Lewes in under 25 minutes. There are several golf courses and fishing lakes nearby. This cottage is perfect for couples or a small family. The cottage has a beautiful garden with chairs and tables for guests to use. Please note: the cottage has several low ceilings, low door entrances and is on different levels. Although for many this adds to the charm of this old building, we appreciate that it might not be for everyone, especially those who are very tall or who have mobility issues.

Located just under a mile from Heathfield we have the best of both worlds - set in peaceful countryside with access to numerous footpaths and a beautiful small wood on our doorstep, yet close to the town with its good selection of shops, cafes and takeaways. Heathfield also has an excellent Deli (great selection of Italian wines), renowned for its 'Pizza Night' on Fridays. There are also plenty of great country pubs in this part of the country. The cottage is just a short drive from Rudyard Kipling's home, Bateman's, at Burwash, as well as Lee Miller's house at Farleys Farm in Chiddingly (why not combine your visit with a lovely pub lunch at the Gun Inn?). We are within driving distance of several other beautiful houses and gardens (Pashley Manor Gardens, Michelham Priory) as well as the Ashdown Forest (Pooh Corner) and the Cuckoo Trail, great for walking and cycling. For younger visitors there's Blackberry Farm at Whitesmith and Knockhatch Adventure Park at Hailsham and for anglers there are several fishing lakes all within a short drive from the cottage.
