Clover Cottage is a charming detached cottage converted from a small barn. Its central location makes it an ideal place to discover the Lake District. With a dog-friendly secret garden, come in through the porch of this traditional Lakeland cottage, hang up your walking gear, and step into the open-plan living area. Sink into a comfy sofa and watch a film or simply relax. This is a perfect place to unwind. A dedicated parking space is available behind the cottage. No cats are allowed as family members have cat allergies. One small dog is allowed and there is a surcharge. This cottage is not suitable for the very young or those who are infirm or have mobility issues.

Situated on Lake Windermere, Ambleside is a great base for touring the central Lakes. Grasmere and the Langdale Valley are a short drive away. It's perfect for walkers because there are so many popular walks from the doorstep. If walking isn't your cup of tea, then why not take a boat ride There are many independent shops as well as restaurants, cafes and pubs to suit all tastes. Don't miss the most photographed building in the Lake District - the the 17th century “Bridge House” now the National Trust Information Centre. From Windermere Station you can get a bus to Ambleside. The bus takes about 15 minutes. Entrance to Clover Cottage is either the parking area around the book (reached via Kelsick Road) or on foot down a flight of steps from Lake Road (between Let Me Stay and the Signature Memorabilia Shop). If you're driving, there is off-street parking at the cottage. This is reached from Kelsick Road. Follow the one way system, go slowly past the King Street car park, then turn left immediately after the Indian Restaurant through a narrow driveway and down into the parking area behind the cottage. Our space is the furthest one on the left (marked Clover Cottage). The cottage is on the right and can be reached by either of the two gates. Note, the alley down to the cottage from Lake Road is narrow and steep. Alternative access is available, though, from the parking area via Kelsick Road.
