Tucked away in a quiet corner of Grasmere, this traditional stone-built cottage offers a peaceful retreat just moments from the heart of the village. The River Rothay meanders nearby, and with direct access to the fells and lakes from the doorstep, the cottage is a gateway to some of the most breathtaking walks in the Lake District.
Step inside, and a warm, welcoming living room invites you to unwind. Sink into a cosy armchair, put your feet up, and enjoy a good book or a film on the TV. The flickering glow of the lamp adds to the snug atmosphere, perfect after a day exploring the hills. Through to the kitchen, the charm of traditional stone blends seamlessly with modern comforts. Well-equipped with an electric oven, hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer, it has everything needed for hearty breakfasts or evening meals shared around the dining table. A washer-dryer is tucked away for convenience, ideal for freshening up after outdoor adventures.
Climbing the stairs to the first floor, two restful bedrooms await. The first, with twin beds, is light and airy, while the second offers a snug single bed, perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep. The bathroom on this floor features a bath with a shower over, ready to soothe tired limbs after long days on the fells.
At the very top of the cottage, a charming double bedroom awaits beneath the eaves. Tucked away from the rest of the house, it offers a quiet retreat with views over the rooftops to the surrounding fells.
Outside, seating areas to both the front and rear provide the perfect spots for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, listening to birdsong and enjoying the crisp, fresh air. Private parking for two cars ensures a hassle-free stay.
