Escape to this beautifully converted 200-year-old former dairy, nestled on the peaceful outskirts of Stirling in Pirnhall. With a rich sense of history and all the comforts of modern living, this unique one-bedroom cottage is perfect for couples, solo travellers, small families, or business guests.
The property comfortably sleeps up to 3 guests, featuring a spacious superking-size bedroom and a cosy sofa bed in the lounge. The large, contemporary bathroom includes a luxurious walk-in rain shower for a relaxing start (or end) to your day.
While the fully modernised interior includes a compact but functional kitchen—with dishwasher, microwave, small fridge, sink, and a mini oven with 2 hot plates—the heart of the home is its stunning south-facing garden. Fully enclosed, it’s ideal for children to play safely and dogs to roam freely (up to 2 well-behaved pets welcome). Enjoy all-day sunshine, patio furniture for al fresco dining, and complete privacy.
You’re just minutes from the historic Battle of Bannockburn site, Stirling Castle, and the Wallace Monument, while excellent road links make sightseeing across central Scotland a breeze. Despite its tranquil setting, the cottage is close to local amenities and a wide range of restaurants in nearby Stirling.

The historic City of Stirling is only a short drive from the property. Here you will find, sitting atop a craggy, volcanic rock, the historic Castle with the Old Town Jail and Church of the Holy Rude slightly further down the hill. Slightly further away in Causewayhead on the top of Abbey Craig outcrop is the National Wallace Monument. The historic Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297, the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 and the Battle of Sherriffmuir in 1715 all helped to shape the history of Scotland and these sites can easily be visited from Muirside Cottage. Allow yourself to become absorbed by the atmosphere, whilst visiting the magnificent Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument and The Battle of Bannockburn Experience, and then recharge your batteries in one of the many cafés, restaurants or pubs which Stirling as to offer.
Time for adventures beyond Muirside Cottage and Stirling? You have plenty of choices. There are loads of family-friendly places to visit nearby: Briarlands Farm, Blairdrummond Safari Park, The Alpaca Trekking Centre, Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve, Argaty Red Kite Centre, Rednock Trekking Centre, Lake of Menteith boat trip to Inchmahome Priory to name but a few.
The nearby town of Falkirk is home to the world's only fully rotating boat lift, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal, and also is home to The Kelpies at Helix Park - the largest Equine statues in the world!
Within a short driving distance, you will also be able to sample Scotland’s magnificent Highland scenery and hospitality before returning home to the comfort of your accommodation.
The surrounding countryside is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts: walking, cycling and paragliding are all on offer on Gillies Hill and the nearby Ochil Hills.
