Bathroom is downstairs which is normal for a 200 year old Cottage. *NOTE* Guests are NOT allowed to use the swimming pool or BBQ. We do NOT offer food, laundry or kitchen cooking facilities. QUIRKY BEDROOM INFORMATION It's quirky as it is 2 rooms, one is the main double bedroom with annex room, it is my sewing room storage area with personal effects stored inside the wardrobe & drawers as the boxes on the shelves here. You're very welcome to use the floor space here for your luggage etc. The double bedroom has plenty of storage for your clothing etc. Price Includes the below facilities in the room. WiFi. HELPFUL GUEST INFORMATION. We DO NOT offer food at all or cooking facilities (you can warm up microwave meals, order takeaways or eat out) nor do we have laundry facilities (one is within walking distance). As we live in Colchester Town, parking is residential permits only, but there are parking facilities 0.1 mile away, a few minutes walk from the house to Butt Road Car Park. It costs from 70p overnight & 4.20 for during the day. We recently upgraded the security for our home, we have cameras in front & back gardens as well as in the living room downstairs, plus we have a video doorbell this is for both us the hosts & you the guests safety & protection at all times. We are at home most of the time, so if you have any issues, allergies or an emergency we are there to help you in any way we can. OUR AREA. We live a moment's walk to Colchester Town centre, our house is 200 years old, (as told by 50 year veteran on the street) the neighborhood is steeped in history from the last few thousand years!! We have several museums nearby, as well as Colchester Castle & it's grounds as well as the old Abbey & many other historic buildings! There's a lovely pub The New Inn on the corner just a moment's walk from where we are that also has a lovely wood burner going in the winter & a nice range of beers, ales, spirits & soft drinks We are within a few minutes walk to Colchester Town centre, where you have so many choices regarding coffee shops, restaurants, night clubs, pubs, cinemas, theatres & a roller skate place as well as many various high street shops. We have two main line train stations, Colchester & Colchester Town nearby as well as the bus station. You can catch a train from Colchester straight to Liverpool Street station, London is approx 50 mins. Colchester Castle is a 5 mins walk away Colchester Zoo is a few mins away Mersea Island beach is approx 15 mins Harwich Port is approx 20 mins Colchester has so much to offer, please do come visit!
