Once you arrive at Torridon, there are just 6 miles left to go to Shieldaig, where Rubha Lodge awaits. It’s acknowledged to be one of the best scenic drives in the world, and perhaps one of the slowest, as there are so many photo opportunities to stop for.   Entering Rubha’s front door, you come into a useful area with space for coats/boots. The heart of Rubha Lodge is the large open plan living space, which incorporates the amazing picture window and wood burner. This room is truly special and makes the most of the setting and abundance of light and picture views. This large space is perfect to relax and enjoy a meal, a movie, or simply enjoying the sea view. Opposite is Shieldaig Island, which is home to nesting sea eagles– binoculars supplied! For the bird lovers, you will also see many other bird species alongside seals and otters.  A few steps up, you will find a fully equipped large kitchen, fitted with a new kitchen island with seating to create a great social space to be together. Off the kitchen is a utility room and a shower room. Also, downstairs is the main bathroom with a shower, roll top bath and toilet.
