Situated in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, The Royal Oak Inn offers a traditional Inn, which has been family run since 1995. The Royal Oak Inn, in the heart of Bowness on Windermere, is situated 100 yards up the steep hill which leads to end of The Dales Way Walk, which we are proud to be associated with as The Finishing Pub. All our cosy rooms are ensuite and located above the bar over two floors. They include free Wi-Fi, TV, radio alarm clock and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy The Royal Oak’s renowned full English breakfast along with homemade bar meals, served daily from 12pm - 8:30pm (Closed Christmas Day). Dishes are prepared using locally sourced produce,. The property also offers vegan, vegetarian and a gluten-free options. Bowness Bay Pier offers steamship cruises across Lake Windermere. Home to The World of Beatrix Potter, Bowness features traditional craft and gift shops, within 5 minutes’ walk of the property. Free private parking is available on site and Windermere Railway Station is 1.5 miles away.
