Chrissi Nefeli is located in the heart of Pelion at an altitude of 620 meters, the highest village of the Centaurs' mountain, who were the sons of the goddess Nefeli and Ixion. Aghios Georgios Nilias is a beautiful traditional village, with lush vegetation, abundant waters, fountains and cobblestone paths, nestled between two mountains. It offers wonderful views of the most beautiful sights of Pelion, such as the Pagasitic Gulf, located at short distance from Volos (21 km east of Volos, between Aghios Vlassios and Pinakates). Thus, guests combine genuine contact with nature at close proximity to the cosmopolitan city of Volos, 20 minutes away, where they enjoy a lively nightlife, interesting markets and very good food in local restaurants, tavernas and tsipouradika with fresh fish. A walk in the village reveals impressive old mansions of traditional local architecture, like the mansions of Dereli, Ioannidis, Georgie (some of which have been renovated and turned into traditional hostels), a beautiful square of age-old trees, the church of St. George with the stone bell-tower as well as some taverns and steak houses in the square and at the entrance of the village.
