Kastellorizo is the gem of eastern Mediterranean sea, not only because of its natural beauty, but mostly because of its history and cultural heritage. It is the gateway between the Orient and the Oxident. It has had a long history, dating back to pre-historic times and all the way to modern times. I have the privilege to have inherited a house built in 1820. In this house 4 generations of my family have been born and raised, and it has survived through wars, fires and earthquakes. My father was the last of the family to have been born in the house; a family of captains and doctors. The house was the symbol of their prosperity, cultural wealth, as well as a reflection of a family that loved, protected and believed in this small island, and never abandoned it - even in the hardest times. When one enters the house there is a room dedicated to the family and the island's history, through old archive photographs. In every single room, there are objects that have been in the family for a century. Above all, living in this house one feels the aura of the heritage and the values of the family and the island - it is more than a vacation, it is a cultural experience.

My heart belongs in Kastellorizo and the Historical House, and I spend my personal time and resources to keep the house as authentic and fucntional as possible. It has always been an important value in my family, to keep the house and its history alive, from generation to genaration. Now it is my time to do this and welcoming guests from all over the world makes me very happy and content!

Palameria, is the area where the Historical House is situated. It is a very quiet, more residential neighborhood, with crystal clear sea and one can marvel the breathtaking sun rise every morning from the balcony or terrace.
