Welcome to Romanati Boutique House! This 1890-built period house, once a prominent mansion in the village, is situated in the picturesque village of Pefki, Makry Gialos. It offers breathtaking views of the sea and the gorge of Pefki. Located just a 15-minute drive from the beach, the house is the perfect holiday retreat for those seeking inspiration, authenticity, and tradition combined with modern amenities. Fully restored in 2016 with respect to local architecture.

Pefki, a traditional village, is a hidden gem that has preserved all the typical characteristics of traditional villages and architecture. Small white and okra houses are nestled closely together, and cobbled streets, or "kalderimia," are filled with bougainvilleas and flowers. Scattered little churches hide in luring trails amid olive groves and cypresses overlooking the Libyan Sea. A traditional “kafeneion” (cafe) serves as the typical area for social interaction for the village. Amphitheatrically set on the hills, 410 m above sea level and 7 km from the coast, overlooking the gorge and the sea, the village is conveniently close to the restaurants, bars, and shops of Makrygialos, the golden beaches, the trails, and the attractions of the southeastern part of Crete. At the same time, it enjoys the tranquility and authenticity of village life. Eastern Crete is a world of natural wonders. Sea-sculpted coasts, fabulous sandy beaches, and deep gorges contrast with palm-tree-shaded coasts, rugged mountains, silvery olive groves, and cedar-covered sandy islets. The landscape is impressive and magnetic, imprinted by each era of the island’s rich history and culture: ancient ruins of the glorious Minoan civilization, Byzantine churches, Venetian fortresses, historic monasteries, and the very unique Cretan customs and traditions.
