Our journey began back in 2014. Craig’s background is in the airline and travel agency business. His knowledge of the island is immense and he can help you with suggestions of where to go and what to do. Bruce worked in the hotel industry overseeing special events and even had his own catering company. You will enjoy his culinary skills at our daily “Art of Philoxenia” breakfast gathering. Our love for travelling brought us the to the Greek Islands. We dreamed of one day owning a small hotel and providing the same hospitality we encountered to others visiting the islands. Now in 2020 our dream has become a reality. We are honored to share it with you.
Mertonas is the perfect location for your holiday on Karpathos. The settlement is rich in history and definitely worth exploring while you are here. The local landowners used to supply the Greek revolutionary pirates with fruit when they would land their ships in Kyra Panagia. Several houses in the area still boast abundant fruit trees. You can still see a bunker from WWII high above Mertonas that was built by the Italians during the war. The Church of St. George is one of the oldest churches on the island. The property is situated directly above Kyra Panagia which is home to one of the island's most popular beaches and several restaurants. You can easily reach Achata and Apella from Mertonas as you'll be staying in between these two popular beaches.
