Everything about this cottage says "someone cares". You'll get it as soon as you come through the gate ... it sits on a double lot, nicely landscaped with grass, hedges, and flowers. And the cottage itself? It's sweet!
THE TERRACE / SUNROOM: We built a covered terrace with an almost 360-degree view of the lake and volcano. It has a futon/pull-out couch plus chairs and a small table. We love to eat, read, or just visit with friends up there!
THE LIVING AREAS: The living room is spacious and comfortable, with a great desk if you want to work. -- and Bose speakers you can connect to your device.
The double bed is in a separate room downstairs, wonderfully sunny with windows on 3 sides and curtains for evening privacy and great sleeping. The steps up to the terrace are here too, so you don't need to go outside.
THE KITCHEN: If you like to cook with quality items, you'll love the kitchen. It's a small enough space that you just need to turn around to get what you need. It also has ample counter space, a new oven, and a good-sized fridge. We even installed a silent water pump outside to get great water pressure in the kitchen. (a rarity in San Pedro).
PEACE & QUIET: We're in one of the quietest sections of San Pedro -- you rarely hear a vehicle, and only the occasional music. There are roaming dogs in San Pedro that occasionally disrupt the peace ... but not for long.
SAFETY: San Pedro La Laguna is very safe. Tourists can walk freely without fear, even at night. This might be due to the extensive security system they have in place -- or the awesome neighbors who don't put up with crime. We have lighted security cameras on the path outside the cottage to be sure kids don't spray graffiti on the cottage.
THE BACK STORY: This cottage is a labor of love between the owner, a Mayan with a wife and two children, and a semi-retired creative writer.
All this to say that you'll feel at home because we worked together to create a home you'll love!

I'm a semi-retired creative writer, and when I travel I love to stay in comfortable places ... places that have soul. We've worked hard to think of everything so we give you a great experience and you aren't inconvenienced. You wanted a hair dryer? It's here. A good working kitchen with spices and other thoughtful items? They're here, too.
And how about the view from the terrace? Incredible!
But it's not just about the house, of course. If you like to walk and hike, you're in luck. The San Pedro volcano is almost in our backyard, and Armando, the dueno (owner), is a great guide. Of course, there's always strolling along the beach taking in the surrounding mountains. Honestly, that never gets old for anyone. I could spend all day watching the little clouds settling into the mountain crevices. It's a never-ending, magnificent show.
As you may have read, this house is a labor of love. The Mayan owner, a 35 yo man with a wife and two young children, joined with me to convert it into a truly sweet B&B. So, if you're into the energy of a place, you'll get it when you're here. It's not just the lake vibes, it's this little cottage too.
Come enjoy!
Just 50 steps from the lake and a short walk to town, next to the Community Spanish School and a block from Maya Corazon Spanish School. It's the best location in San Pedro!
This neighborhood is as quiet as it gets in SP -- we're tucked away from the street noise and feeling all the powerful energy from the lake.
Yet it's just a short walk to some of the best restaurants (and they are GOOD). We will send you a community guide once you book.
Want to cook at home? A major vegetable vendor is right up the path, on the main street ... a 4-minute walk. And of course, there are tiendas everywhere, so you can always find what you need or want.
