Moloney House is located in the centre of Doolin, at the start of the Cliffs of Moher Coastal Trail. It is just 100 metres from the bus stop and 200 metres from the popular O'Connors Pub. Ferries to the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher cruises can be found just 1 km away. The purpose-built Moloney House is set on a family-run farm. The rooms feature a flat-screen TV, ironing supplies, and tea and coffee making facilities. The en suite bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer. Guests can enjoy complimentary internet access in the common room, which also has a printer. In the mornings, the Moloney House serves a comprehensive breakfast menu in the spacious dining room. Doolin’s traditional local pubs are just 1 km away and feature musical evening entertainment. Doolin lies between the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. Guests can enjoy strolls along the Doolin Cliffs and boat trips to the Arran Islands. Further outdoor activities include fishing, golfing, and horse riding. The village has bus links to Galway and Limerick. Free Wi-Fi and free private parking are available.

Frank was born and raised on this land. His parents opened up the first registered bed & breakfast in Doolin in the 1960s. He is a third generation farmer with almost 50 beef cattle on the farm today. Though farming has always been in his blood, Frank has a passion for cooking. He trained in college in Galway before working in restaurants in Ireland and England. He returned home to Doolin in 1988 and a couple years later he decided to build Moloney House. Mary Ellen was born and raised over 3,500 miles away in the great state of Illinois, U.S.A. After almost 20 trips to Ireland for both business and pleasure she found herself in Doolin at Gus O’Connor’s pub enjoying a mighty Sunday traditional music session and an order of fish and chips (which she will argue is the best in Ireland!) when she met Frank. From that point on the rest is history - she left Washington, DC after 13 years in the federal government to move across the Atlantic Ocean to her new home in Doolin. Frank and Mary Ellen love welcoming visitors from all over the world to Moloney House and they hope it reminds you of the comforts of home.

Céad míle fáilte - A thousand welcomes to Moloney House! Moloney House is a 25-year-old purpose built bed and breakfast in the heart of Doolin. Our home is situated on a 50-acre beef suckler family farm and overlooks the 500-year-old ruins of Doonmacfelim Castle to the rear of the home across the Aille River.

During the day, enjoy walking to Doolin Pier and touring the Aran Islands by ferry. You may catch sight of our playful resident dolphin, Dusty, in the harbour or the beautiful coastal birds landing on the shoreline. Or if you want to really stretch your legs try the Cliffs of Moher coastal walk (8 km from Doolin to the Visitor Centre) and soak in the stunning landscape and views where the Atlantic Ocean meets the rugged coastline. Explore the Burren National Park and its breathtaking walking trails winding through layers of limestone populated with beautiful flowers and plants. And don’t let rainy weather dampen your visit. Explore the Doolin Cave, home to the longest free-hanging stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere (7.3 meters / 23 feet). Stop into one the local small businesses - stocked with Irish made gifts, knitwear, foods and sweets. Some locals may say it’s “a day for the stool” so visit with them at one of the four pubs within walking distance of our home for a pint of Guinness and a piping hot bowl of seafood chowder with homemade brown bread. Or if you prefer to stay in for a bit of quiet, please relax in the guest sitting room in front of the warm turf fire.
