At the horse farm Akurgerði lives a german-icelandic family. I, Sabine Girke, am from the South of Germany. My passion for the Icelandic Horse and my love for this beautiful country brought me 2010 to Iceland. I live here with my husband Daníel Ben and 3 children. There are many possible activities in our area, like hiking to a natural hot spring, fishing, golf, riding,... Many of Icelands natural sights like the Golden Circle, Þingvellir, many beautiful waterfalls and a volcano crater are in a short driving distance. The location of our farm Akurgerði is private and secluded, but at the same time we are just 2 minutes drive to the main Highway 1 and just 8 minutes drive to the towns Selfoss and Hveragerði where you can find several supermarkets and great restaurants.
