Other things to keep in mind Transparency: our first goal is to have 100% satisfied guests but there are always some aspects that can be overlooked. So we prefer to be ourselves the first to want to underline them so that there are no misunderstandings or disappointments. - should be quite evident from the name (Ventisei Scalini a Trastevere) 😉 but our Guest House has twenty-six rather steep steps and no lift. - we have different types of rooms with different sizes, comforts and, consequently, different prices. We strongly recommend that you carefully select the type of room you require. The photos on the front page are of all the rooms but by selecting a type you will see the photos of that type. Be careful, don't just look at the lowest price, select the type of room you want to stay in to avoid disappointment (and us, problems!)

A few lines to make your stay even "easier" As you know we are NOT a hotel but a GUEST HOUSE and that is an extra-hotel structure. We do not have (and do not want to have!) The style or the services or the prices of a hotel in the same area. In short, we are not a hotel that costs less, we are a different type of accommodation: smaller, more familiar and definitely more informal! Our location is fantastic, we are in the most fascinating district of Rome: Trastevere. If you are looking for luxury or exclusive services, we are not the place for you !! If you are looking for the truest and most genuine Rome, its colors, its warmth and its great beauty, you are in the right place! Being in the historic center of a nearly 3000 year old city involves narrow alleys, old houses, steep stairs (we are called Ventisei Scalini a Trastevere because there are 26 steps!), etc. but the atmosphere is simply magical! And after all this ranting still a little advice that comes from the heart: be travelers and NOT tourists, try to see places and people with an open mind and heart ........... it will be a fantastic experience!

Trastevere is the most popular district and one of the most characteristic of the city. The people of Trastevere consider themselves the most “authentic” among Romans. The urban and social texture has remained the same throughout the years; entering Trastevere from the Tiberina Island you will notice narrow labyrinth-like streets, ancient buildings, “pittoresque” corners, medieval towers and houses, renaissance cloisters and some of the most beautiful medieval churches of Rome. Trastevere is a very lively and dynamic Rione of Rome; many artisan shops and art galleries are open until late at night. Romans themselves go to the numerous clubs and restaurants of Trastevere which are suitable for all tastes and pockets. Every Sunday morning, near Viale Trastevere, the famous “Porta – Portese” flee-market takes. If you happen to visit this market remember that bargaining on the price is mandatory!
