Located on the west coast of New Zealand's North Island, Ariki Backpackers is just 100 metres from New Plymouth's shops, pubs and bus terminal. It offers a restaurant, a tour desk and a communal kitchen. Situated above Icons Sports Bar, New Plymouth Ariki Backpackers is 2 minutes' walk from well-known coastal art piece The Wind Wand. It is 6 minutes' drive from both Stadium Taranaki and Brooklands Zoo. This friendly hostel offers a guest lounge with satellite TV, a communal kitchen and a large outdoor patio with BBQ facilities. There are internet facilities, a DVD library and a guest laundry. The tour desk books mountain trips, surfing, farm tours, seal watching and cultural tours. Ariki Backpackers offers dormitories and private rooms. Rooms with private bathroom facilities are available. There are female-only and male-only dorms on offer.
