Harrison’s Retreat offers you a slice of NZ summer all year around, located in the winterless North, this private oasis has been created with the intention of comfort first for our guests. Our property has been upgraded, from the beds, to the kitchen appliances, to the brand new bathrooms - you'll get to enjoy everything like new. Harrison's Retreat comprises of 2x Queen beds, 2x single beds and 1x trundler, accommodating 7x people. With 2x full bathrooms (one ensuite and one semi) and a complete kitchen, our space is perfect for a family or group of friends getaway. Enjoy alfresco dining on the deck with our BBQ, soaking up the stunning sea view, or make the most of the private access to Chucks Cove with a Kayak ride. Whatever kind of stay you are after, we've got you sorted. This property is the upper floor of a 2x story residential home, with private entry and amenities. There are no shared amenities between the ground floor and upper floor other than the backyard which has access to the beach.
We are locals with in depth local knowledge of attractions and local amenities. We are available to offer help or answer any questions during your stay. We’re a 5 min drive away, so should you require assistance in any way we are happy to come and help out - we always love meeting our guests. Otherwise we are happy to deal with whatever queries you may have.
We are blessed at Harrisons Retreat to be surrounded by some of the most scenic beaches in the country. Notwithstanding our own cove, we are minutes away from a number of other options including the family friendly Coopers Beach, Tokerau beach - great for fishing and shellfish collection, Matai Bay - one of the most beautiful spots in the country, to name a few. We encourage guests to make the trip to Cape Reinga where two oceans meet and which is an important Maori cultural site. Ninety mile beach is also a great spot to visit. Closer by is the quaint and historical township of Mangonui. The area provides a supermarket, pharmacy, butcher, clothing stores as well as multiple cafes, eateries and pubs
