Cape South is a beautiful, graciously designed French colonial-style homestead set within 16 acres of gardens and grounds. It is located within 10 minutes of beautiful sandy beaches and bush reserves, has a swimming pool, spa pool and infrared sauna. There is plenty of room to relax & enjoy the property, while also providing plenty of opportunities for activities & exploring the area. The Homestead accommodation is warm & welcoming, spacious and elegantly appointed, and beautifully furnished in keeping with the style of the house. The heart of the house is a large open plan kitchen, with butlers pantry, a dining table & living area around a wood burner. Through this room is the formal dining room, and beside that a huge formal living room, with lovely comfortable sofas & an open fire. Each of the 6 ensuite rooms are very large and all open onto a generous verandah that surrounds the entire homestead. All are beautifully styled, and very warm & cosy. Some of these beds can be split or joined as required. There are plenty of private spaces with the property, and the homestead lends itself well three-generation family gatherings or the celebration of special occasions with friends. It is also ideal for corporate groups as many of the beds can be split. The Cape South Estate includes a magnesium-salt swimming pool, a spa pool, a gym, and an infrared sauna, all which you are welcome to use. There is a separate 2 bedroom cottage beside the homestead, and if this is rented during your stay the facilities will be shared. If you wish for exclusive use of the estate, this can be discussed. There is also a yoga studio on site, which can also be set up as a meeting or board room. This can be made available at an addition cost. Catering can also be arranged.

We feel very privileged to live on site at this incredible property with many tui, koromako, riroriro, morepork, kotare, majestic kereru, our chickens and small dog. We love living amongst the hills, with sheep and cattle across the fence and paradise ducks regularly flying over. We enjoy the changes in the ocean, the moods of the moon, and the sounds of the surf. While many of our guests come expecting to spend a lot of time away from the property, most just don't want to leave. It's nice to plan some excursions during your stay, but perhaps they are just to Waipuka or Ocean beaches (each just 10-mins drive away) or share with me a guided walk or mountain bike ride on the neighbouring farm. Just being at Cape South will be invigorating for your soul and and wonderful escape from the madness of our world.

Our neighbourhood is rural, and we are surrounded by cattle, geese, horses, sheep, pukeko and ducks on neighbouring properties. The cottage boasts views of the ocean and the sounds of korimako, riroriro, and tui. Cape South is located equidistant between the stunning surf beaches of Waimarama and Ocean Beach, each about 10 mins drive away. Each are incredible, wild, surf beaches with kilometres of uninhabited sand to explore. Surf is often heard from the cottage. Craggy Range, Akarangi, Te Mata and Blackbarn wineries are also about 10 mins drive away as is the nearest cycle trail along the Tuki Tuki river.
