Casinha do Barreiro is a beautifuly modern and cosy cottage situated in a private and peaceful corner overlooking the Santa Barbara parish. Here you will be able to fully relax and find peace and tranquility. Casinha is orientated to the South East providing maximum exposure to the sun. With an outside terrace and barbeque area the setting is perfect for al fresco dining. You will be spoiled with views of the Atlantic Ocean, Pico Alto and the idyllic parish of Santa Barbara. The cottage has a large garden next door with private parking. After a long day hiking you can relax on our ‘sundowner chair’ with fantastic sea views and a view of our neighbouring island of Sao Miguel and off course the magnificent sunset. You will find high speed internet throughout the cottage. Cable TV is also available.
Our self catering cottage is perfect for four people. Whether you are a couple looking for adventure, a family wishing just to relax together or a remote worker looking for fast, reliable internet then Casinha do Barreiro is the perfect location. The cottage has two double beds, a fully fitted kitchen and a large sofa to relax on. A large bathroom and shower. A cozy dining area with a cast iron stove. And a library of books and games to choose from. 125cc Scooter and Mountain Bikes are available to rent on site. Booking in advance is essential.

The cottage is situated in a very private and tranquil location with no neighbours. It is a 20 minute walk to Santa Barbara village where you will find a mini mercado and a bar. Also a bus connection to Vila is possible from here. You are a 30 minute walk from the Natural Reserve of Säo Lourenco Bay where you will find a beach and the nearest restaurant.
Poco da Pedreira & Pico Vermelho are a 20 minute walk. Access to the hiking trails of Norte, Santa Barbara and the Fajazinha trail are from the front door. Long term rental is possible. 125cc Scooter & Mountain Bikes available onsite. Reserve in advance.
