An Adults Only hotel set in a restored 19th-century manor house, nestled within 30,000 m² of beautifully landscaped botanical gardens overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Located just 100 metres from the centre of Caniço, with easy access by foot to shops, restaurants, pharmacies, bank, supermarket, and other local services, the hotel is 8 km from Funchal and 9 km from airport. Quinta Splendida offers the perfect balance of tranquillity, nature, and easy access to the city. This sanctuary is often described as an “Island within the Island.” More than a scenic setting, the garden serves as a haven for wellness, reconnection, and reflection, showcasing a wide variety of flora and offering guests moments of natural beauty and peace. A recent addition is the Zen Garden – a tranquil sanctuary designed for meditation and mindfulness. Surrounded by stones, flowering trees, and gentle greenery, it invites guests to pause, breathe deeply, and embrace the stillness of the moment. The gardens are home to seasonal flowers, aromatic plants, and an organic vegetable garden. Many of these herbs are used in the hotel’s wellness treatments and in dishes served at our restaurants, reflecting a deep-rooted philosophy of sustainability and respect for Nature. Guests can enjoy one of the largest spas in Madeira, featuring 10 treatment rooms, a Finnish sauna, an indoor pool, an ice fountain, and a wide range of holistic therapies. Leisure activities nearby include golf, diving, and whale watching. Elegant rooms at Quinta Splendida feature private balconies, modern furnishings, satellite TV, a minibar or kitchenette – ideal for long or independent stays. Dining options include La Perla for gourmet Portuguese cuisine, a Thai lounge, a cocktail bar, and a poolside snack bar offering light meals and smoothies. The hotel also provides a tour desk, bicycle rentals, and car hire assistance, making it easy to explore the island with comfort and care. Please note that when booking Half-Board supplements during Easter, Christmas, New Year's Eve and Festa da Flor (Madeira Flower Festival), guests must pay an added fee for a Gala Dinner or Special Dinner.
Quinta Splendida Wellness & Botanical Garden will contact guests with further information. For guests booking Double or Twin Rooms, Studios and Apartments, please note that the spa is not included in the room rates and has an extra cost of EUR 35,00 per day.
Please also note that guests below 16 years old are not allowed to use the Spa. Please note that the Suite with Spa Access cannot accommodate extra beds.
Massages and holistic therapies are available at the Spa center and the indoor heated pool is included in the spa entrance fee during our Spa center opening hours. The outdoor pool water is at ambient temperature.
The Spa entrance Fee includes the free use of the Spa facilities : bathrobe, slippers, towels, locker, tea, water, indoor pool, ice fountain, jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, sensation shower, relaxation area and fitness room table tennis, outdoor swimming pool, deck chairs and umbrellas. Treatments are not included.
