This is a RURAL place, not a city hotel! This farm was my parents weekend refugee that I inherited when they died; we moved here 22 years. My husband Paulo cooks very well and builds all the wooden houses; he is a police officer 10 years ago I decided to change my life - high heels to flip flops; I was a newspaper director I decided to start receiving people from all over the world and I love it This farm is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by forest 12 kms away from Aveiro, 10 from Agueda and 8 from Albergaria-a-Velha. It is the ideal place to people that love being apart, in contact with animals and nature. To experiment portuguese traditional food at Casa da Sogra Rural Food Truck (you can check on Tripadvisor) you must book in advance. Relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, riding a bike, playing with all our cats that walk freely all over the place or with other animals, like peacocks, sheep, goats, ducks, goose, horses, will be your daily life. The farms is situated in a green protected area . Lands with crops and forest is what you are going to find 1 km away you have Loure and S.João de Loure where you have all the facilities from post office to hair dresser Águeda and Albergaria -a-Velha are 10 km away and Aveiro 12. Oporto 45 minutes and Coimbra the same. Vale da Silva Villas It is a farm with several private little villas and wooden bungalows. Here you can relax from the stressed city days in a rural environment. In the small villages you have anything you need. Lots of trees, crops and a few houses compose the scenario. Here at Vale da Silva we have our family house.Nearby you have bakery, grocery store, even post office or coffee shop and 5 km away you have big shopping centers. From June to September in Portugal all the small villages have parties with live music at week ends so sometimes it is normal to listen to the music and fire work. When the lands are fertilised sometimes it smells a bit, specially if it is hot, but as it comes it goes away!
