Kralj Matjaž - the green escape under Alps is a lovely, recently renovated family owned weekend house. It gave our family lots of nice weekend getaways from the city. Each season at the house has it's own charm. Come and enjoy wonderful views of the fields, woods, Kranj and Ljubljana area and on our highest mountain, Triglav. The house can be enjoyed for calm and active holiday as well as for bigger groups for having fun. It can host about 10 people, but 7 is optimal. The Kralj Matjaž house has 2 bathrooms, one kitchen and living room (with a cozy fire place and a couch for 2 people:)) and sleeping areas in the upper floor (3 rooms; one double bed, one single bed, one couch/folded bed for 2-4 people, especially kids love it :)). In the kitchen, you will find regular equipment and basic food (such as salt, sugar, oil, flour, coffee, tea, pasta). We can provide local breakfast basket for additional charge of five euros per person - if you would like so, please also let us know at least 2 days in advance - we do not live in the property and we need time to prepare so! :) We will equip you with maps, brouchures and important numbers, because safety comes first, especially on travels. We are happy to help you provide local info and help with eg. booking transport tickets. Most guests come by their own car, since the location is on countryside and in the hills. However, do not hesitate to book your holidays at our home if you are a guest that arrives by plane or train; we will be happy to pick you up and drop of for a little extra charge! If the guest shows interest, we are happy to borrow our kids/adult bikes and inline skates (please let us know in advance!). Since many families are coming to spend holidays at our house, please note we don't provide baby/kids bed. But if you let us know in advance, we can help borrowing one! The legend of "King Matjaž" says that he is still sleeping under Mount Peca. In his honour, at the flatlands above Črna na Koroškem, people have been building snow castles for more than 25 years. Joke aside, Kralj Matjaž is freshly retired Matjaž, father and husband, who loves simple life. He is generous and love people from around the world. He traveled with his family and found beauty in talking to people with different culture background. Our family is lucky enough to have a holiday home that can now be enjoyed with travelers from around the world. When booking, you will be in touch with his daughter Monika, who helps him manage the account.

Povlje is a small village on 614 metres above sea level. Village contains about 15 houses (mainly weekends), under the heart of mount Storžič - a symbol of Kranj and Kranj area. From the village itself there is a beautiful view of Kranj with its surroundings and further towards škofjaloška hills and Ljubljana. From Povlje there are marked footpath to the mountains Mala and Velika poljana, Javornik and Storižič. For quick refreshment, we reccomend hike to Lovrenc (ca 40 mins, if the guest house is open, we reccomend home doghnuts:)). Please keep in mind if going hiking, ALWAYS wear proper hiking shoes (not flipflops, sandals etc.!) On weekdays, the village is connected to Kranj by the regular Alpetour bus line.
