My husband and I were born and raised in the beautiful State of Washington. We grew up in the same church and have been married for the past 18 years. Our dream of living near Mt. Rainier has finally become a reality and we really enjoy sharing it with others. Steve has a true passion for fishing, hiking, and exploring the gorgeous outdoors that this area has to offer. A lazy day snuggled up on a lawn chair in front of the lake with my adorable puppy and a good book sounds pretty close to heaven to me:-)...but hiking, kayaking, boating, long bicycle rides, snowshoeing, and an evening BBQ with family and friends all come in as a close second! Although our hosting adventure only began the summer of 2017... it is obvious to us that we were made for this! We absolutely love getting to know our guests and hearing about their traveling experiences!! We have already met many amazing people and just love love love hosting!!

This adorable Little Red Cabin nestled in the foothills of Mt. Rainier is also adjacent to Big Creek and it is located inside the small community of Paradise Estates. The cabin faces beautiful Osborn Mountain with a couple of vacation rentals on both sides. The area is very peaceful and surrounded by natural beauty. A variety of birds, trees, deer, and elk are often seen here. The small community lake is a short walk away and our guests are very welcome to go for a swim:) Please adhere to all community rules (located in the house manual) so that all of our guests may continue to enjoy this fun amenity! What a great way to cool off after a day of hiking! If you are looking for a hike outside of the park...Big Creek campground is on Skate Creek Rd and it has a trail head that leads up into Osborn mountain (challenging hike-dogs allowed). ****FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE HEADED TO THE MOUNTAIN FOR THE DAY, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AN EARLY START, OR YOU MAY FACE HEAVY DELAYS.*** Most have the same game plan as you:) You'll also have an easier time finding a parking spot at viewpoints, trailheads, and visitor centers. Parking lots tend to fill up at Paradise by 11:00 AM. The busiest time at the entrance stations is typically from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
