The Cottagette is a cozy, self-contained doll house with everything you need to enjoy your stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, tv and ample supply of such retro entertainment as DVDs, VHSs and even books! You'll have it all to yourselves, and this alone would make it a wonderful place to stay but, in fact, the Cottagette also has two very distinct features. First, it is simultaneously right in the heart of Seneca Lake Wine Country (four wineries and a convenience store are within walking distance), while being quiet and set back from the road. Second, a five minute walk takes you into another world altogether, as this property has it's own gorge. This is a private place, where you're not likely to see anyone else, and you can write, explore or simply commune with nature.
I'm a longtime radio host and journalist now, at 75, embarking on a new career as a singer-songwriter. I greatly enjoy meeting the guests who stay at the Cottagette, but of course, only as much as is appropriate. Some folks like to talk about what's going on nearby or whatever. Some just want to keep to themselves. I respect both.
Not only is the Cottagette central to a wide array of wineries, but also to breweries, distilleries, and a mushrooming crop of eateries. The diner for locals is right around the corner, the Finger Lakes National Forest is just five miles away, and Smith Park on Seneca Lake in only two.
