This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. Amazing traditional Japanese home surrounded by nature. A great place to chil and disconnect. The staff were super friendly and the food very tasty. Thanks!!!

We loved the incredibly delicious food (dinner and breakfast) and the great hospitality of the owner and his wife. Our room was pretty large and had all amenities you need, except an ensuite bathroom. The shared bathroom is clean, large and comfortable with showers and an onsen! If you're lucky you have the bathroom for yourself. Although we had a rental car we stayed nearby the pension to avoid the load of tourists on e.g. the Magome- Tsumago trail. Kaida is a pretty village from where you can hike. The waterfalls trail loop on the way to mount Ontake is beautiful and tranquil as is the whole area around mount Ontake. It's easy to spend 4 days at Kaoru!

Tsutaya Tokinoyado Kazari mempunyai basikal percuma, taman, teres dan bar di Kiso. Ryokan 4-bintang ini menawarkan titik jualan pas ski dan khidmat shuttle percuma. Included dinner & breakfast were excellent. It's 20 minutes from Kiso-fukushima station, but they have shuttle service. 3:30pm or 5pm from train station to the ryokan. 9:30am from the ryokan to train station (there's only one shuttle service in the morning). You need to arrange shuttle service before you arrive. It's surrounded by beautiful mountains. I would stay again if I come back to Kiso-fukushima.

Eternal Flame features a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. Free parking is available on site. The main street of Hakuba Echoland is a 6-minute walk away, and features many restaurants/bars. Super friendly host, very convenient location close to ski resorts nearby.

This is probably one of the best ryokan in japan! High value! The onsen is very spectacular. It will stay in my heart forever. For sure I will come back.
