His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

The facility is beautiful. The meals are superb. The staff are lovely. The nicest onsen we've seen and there are some mixed bathing areas which is great for couples. If you are prepared to travel there (we travelled from Kyoto which was a long day of trains and buses) you will not be disappointed.

(Shower is downstairs, still quite convenient.) But the real charm of Morino Garden is the host. Yuriko went above and beyond for us, offering rides, luggage storage, and even a meal we hadn’t booked. We felt as if we’d been welcomed into a home—as, indeed, we had.

Other games include Uno, cards, and the tumbling tower. Extra mattresses and blankets are available. Should be quiet after 9 pm. Highly recommended to everyone, especially groups with kids.

Lovely infrastructure, excellent amenities and well maintained. Loved every bit of the stay! Barbecue setup was on point. I would love to come back here again once it starts to snow. The beds were super comfortable, the entire villa was super clean. Very easy check-in process, definitely foreigner friendly!

Grate experience in Nikko if you are looking for a bit of a remote area. Beautiful and quiet environment. The Onsen in the hotel is amazing, especially the private one! The food was exceptional, such an experience really recommended to book the dinner plan. Very not touristic in the best way, hart to find in Japan.
