J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine. We stayed here as a stopover during the Kumano Kodo. What a wonderful stay! Great place, the common area is well-equipped, and the private onsen (three in total) is absolutely the best after a day of hiking. Yunomine Onsen is a lovely little village. Highly recommend!

The host was excellent and made us feel very welcome after a tough and rainy hike. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing.

The monks are most welcoming and accommodating. Ryokan style rooms with futons, which can be a bit hard, as expected (part of the experience). The place looks incredible, still attains so much history and ancient culture within its walls. It was incredible to be a part of that for a bit and attending the ceremonies was the highlight of our stay.

We took some time to chill at Taka-G with a busy schedule planned. Directions were easy to follow. Taka-G greatest us on arrival. Basic but just what we needed and the room had air-conditioning. We had a fab day at the beach. Taka-G was so kind and even dropped us off at the station. For a chill no frills stay, this is the place.

We loved our stay at Fuki Juko - The hosts were very welcoming and very interesting people. Dinner and breakfast was very good, and we enjoyed spending time with the hosts using Google Translate to have very interesting conversations. A wonderful stay!

Located in the sacred Mount Koya area, 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- is a historic temple and an accommodation for visitors. Excellent welcome and overall very friendly and helpful monks

Everyone was so nice and accommodating! The decor and lighting was really cool, and it was very helpful to have so much space and laundry machines inside the room. The onigiri and vegan ice cream cone were also really good!
