The people are almost as nice as the elephants, and I could not really understand what the elephants said about the boys that worked with them. The timing of porcessing may have said something. .

The 5-star boutique resort is a 15-minute drive from the airport. Included in the room rate, Le Palais offers free beer and wine from 9 AM to 9 PM daily during your stay. The staff made our stay out of this world especially Oscar and Pansa. From the moment we made our booking they bent over backwards to ensure our every need was met. As they all waved us off when we left we had tears in our eyes. The location was great. Although 7 minutes out of town the hotel provides free shuttle runs 3 times a day. It is on the way to the Si Kuang falls and other tourist spots so very convenient for sightseeing. And of course being out of town it is oh so tranquil. The pool is large if a little cool so a great place to relax. Although it does not have the facilities of other 5 star hotels the price is considerably lower so it is great value for money.

From the moment we arrived at the pier the staff was fantastic, especially to our young daughter. We just came from staying at a Four Seasons and the staff at La Residence far exceeded what we experienced there. The rooms, restaurant and ground are also perfect - the location is ideal for exploring Luang Prabang but retreating after dark to relax and debrief over cocktails. We are already discussing a return for next winter.

At the beginning I thought it was going to be far from the center of town but they have a car and driver that can take you to town and back whenever you want. They also can pick you up from the train station. Amazing service! Staff was very nice, specially Aja the driver that we had those days (not sure how to write his name). The room was clean, mattress and bedsheets very comfortable, the bathroom was very big with a nice bath.
