Everything was good! From the service to the restaurant Pepina. The manager there is very accommodating to get us a table at the last minute. The head chef Anga treated us to local scallops specially prepared with bread crumbs and local citrus sauce.

Location was excellent. Staff friendly and extremely helpful. Quick and easy check in and out. Room was beautiful. Bed super comfortable. Bathroom luxurious and modern. On retrospect I think booking a wharf side room rather than city side would have been worth the extra as the wharf view was amazing and I was a bit sorry I had decided to save the money and not book it. Hotel was close to wharf where there were great restaurant choices and also to the city. The tours left from the wharf less than 5 minutes away. The Sky Bus from the airport was reasonably prices and stopped just outside the hotel.

Salamanca Market

A Hobart classic for a Saturday morning. Just along from Princes Wharf, Salamanca Market revels in its historic setting. Against the backdrop of honey-coloured sandstone houses from the 19th century, wide-ranging stalls line the thoroughfare. On offer is an array of Tasmanian goods, from handmade clothing, funky ponchos and vintage collectables to potted plants, flowers and ceramics. And that’s before you get to the artisan food!

Excellent but go early,8am is a good time, Parking is horrendous, parking officers are very busy, read the signs, but its worth a walk and some great food, Wallaby Burritos and a coffee, wicked donuts ,juices, plenty of Jams and Condiments, fresh fruit, and vegies...a great spot

A wonderful market - a wide range of stalls including a wide variety of food stalls, we spent 4 hours there. The 2 best points at Salamanca: the entire market is a smoke free zone - even though it is open air, and, it's a no-dogs zone, so no dog-leads to get tangled around your legs.

Compared to my visit 20 years ago - it was more ‘artisan’ work to see then - and different to other places. Now far too packed with food stalls, & same type of stalls to be found in any large market anywhere. Hard to find the real artisans of Hobart & Tasmania. I am from NSW and brought my cousin on this 3 week trip. Salamanca was to be a must see, but would have been better spending the day travelling further down the coast. The uniqueness of Salamanca has been lost — sadly.

    Over rated and over priced.

Over rated and over priced. Better bargain options and prices at Vinnies, Salvos, Buy4 less, at Glenorchy and CBD outlets. You are really paying for the vibe, and seeing some 2,000 people aged 40-90 come out at the same time.

Very spacious, modern, clean. Location PERFECT for Salamanca market - virtually just around the corner. All the piers a stones throw from apartment block. Lifts to get you to upper floors. Had an issue with fluctuating prices of unit - which I should have taken up with Booking.com - hotel could not do anything about it. Could have been approx $70 cheaper. Next time I’ll go direct to hotel to book !! I have found my Hobart CBD accomodation for future visits. Highly recommended.

The hotel has a fantastic location, just a short walk to the harbour and Salamanca Markets. The SkyBus shuttle stops directly outside, which made transport very easy. Facilities were lovely, with a spacious pool, and there was plenty of storage space in the room – we could fit three large suitcases plus other luggage items comfortably.

This is a very classy hostel. The decor is amazing that gave this European cottage stay vibe . I love the garden too . Always good to have coffee that is free offered by the house sitting outside with a good weather. Anthony has been a great host . Much better than most of hostels I stayed . People here are quiet and nice . And the location is close to Salamanca market . At last the bedding is very comfortable. You wouldn’t regret staying here . Very warm place

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Battery Point with a famous bakery nearby. Easy to walk around and also close to Salamanca Market. I also liked that the hotel provides its own parking at the back, included in the stay. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable for the price. The bathroom amenities from L’Occitane were a nice touch.

Inexpensive and the on-site parking is super convenient. HERTZ vehicle rental is just 200 metres down the street. Thank you to all the staff for a great start to my holiday.

Hobart has some of the best restaurants in Australia because they use their fresh produce which Tasmania is famous for. Their bakeries are second to none, certainly Brisbane doesn't have bakeries like Daci & Daci or Jackman and Ross. Salamanca Market has a plethoria of restaurants to cater to every culinary desire and were top notch. I can't wait to go back and sample some more!
