Stretching out for a mile and a half, you can pretty much buy anything under the sun on Europe’s busiest shopping street. Big British shopping institutions like Primark, John Lewis and Selfridges stock most of it, while the smaller shops toward Tottenham Court Road can still turn up the odd gem if you keep your eyes peeled.

Nice., walkable and you can hop on and off the London bus. Depending on what you have for bus pass. Lots of shops. I like the world famous shop. The Selfridges(architecture- it a high end store). There are so many other stores on Oxford street. I like Oxfords circus train station that connects you to almost all the underground train stations. The whole world is here. I love the busy nature of this street. If you are the type that travel with family, please make a budget first. After my first day with my family, many years when the children were young, I learnt through the hard way. If you want to do some shopping, but want to avoid the crowds, you should stay away from Oxford Street and Portobelle Road on Saturdays. Take a trip to some of the boroughs outside the city's centre and discover the local atmosphere. Ask someone in a shop or the staff at your hotel, if you need a few suggestions for a good day out away from the crowds.
