Excellent location. Very modern and clean hotel with friendly staff located just a few meters from the ocean. We had a room on the 18th floor with a direct ocean view, so we enjoyed watching the sunset over the ocean while sitting on the balcony. We were also able to enjoy live Hawaiian music every night from the sister hotel Halekulani across the street. There is a very good restaurant on site so the food was excellent. There are also really good restaurants in the sister hotel Halekulani and we were able to charge everything to the room from there as well. It was also no problem to extend our stay on the day of check out as our flight was at 9pm. Overall one of the best experiences we had on our travels. Highly recommended.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite facing the ocean and woke up to rainbows every morning! The hotel itself is in the best location in Waikiki and we appreciated proximity to all the luxury shops, restaurants and beaches. The D tower is close to a little market downstairs which was really helpful and Dean & Deluca provided some great caffeine fix. We also enjoyed the pool -- my 3 yr old niece made some very special memories learning to swim there. The property is sparkling clean, tastefully decorated and very secure with tons of helpful staff at the valet desk which was great for shopping/parking. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need, and while we ate out for the most part, it was really great to cook sometimes and do the laundry as we stayed over a week. The suite was very comfortable for our family of 4 adults and 1 kid, and the quality of service was exceptional throughout our stay. From the cleaning staff to bell men to front desk, every single hotel staff we encountered remained courteous, quick and kind. In particular the concierge team, Jordan and Aiko, went above and beyond their ways to make our stay so special for my sister's wedding and I am so grateful for all their help before, during and after our stay. My mom loved the view and ambience of La Vie restaurant for breakfasts and we enjoyed Friday fireworks twice during our stay, once from the Italian restaurant on site and also from our suite. It is as good as it gets in Waikiki when you have such a luxurious, calm and peaceful home base, especially for a family visit. I also stayed at Kahala resorts before my family arrived and still think that the Ritz was the best choice for the family to spend time together. As someone who spends more time at 5 star hotels than my own home, the quality of the staff and service really stood out for me for this property and I look forward to going back❤️🌈

Great amenities! Each room had a rice cooker, kettle, microwave, full fridge, coffee maker. The most impressive was the washlet ! We had the 1 bedroom suite with 2 doubles and a sofa bed and found it was spacious enough for 6 people. Rooftop and owners' lounge were great! It was perfect for a big family as we got space to hang out. All the staff were exceptional ! Especially Richard!

Just behind diamond head is China Walls... its a rocky ledge lookout and you can get some great ocean pictures here.. There were a number of young surfers also tackling the waves almost touching distance from the ledge. so you can get some action photos close up..

    A must do activity.

A must do activity. We walked from our hotel in Waikiki there and up and back and it was about a 12pm trip. You’ll need to pre-book a spot which is USD$5 p/person which can be done online. There are refill spots for water, and take sunscreen.

I loved Diamond Head hiking in the past....but this time we found it can't be hiked without an advance reservation. I certainly understand why because the crowds need to be managed, but we were disappointed we couldn't take our grandson there because we couldn't get a reservation that day and it was the only day we had to do it.
