Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. Playa Negra Guesthouse is located in Cahuita, right in front of the beach. All units feature a seating area. Some units have a terrace and/or balcony with pool or garden views.

Excellent location in Cahuita - beach right in front, restaurants nearby, cca 15 mins to the main road and centre, so still quiet but in reachable destination to all that you need in such a location. absolutely amazing garden - a national park itself :-) an enthusiastic owner that shows you all the animals and tells everything in a friendly tone. all the service from the owners was excellent, including recommended contacts for guides, rentals and transfer to San Jose - many thanks!

Location was great and peaceful .the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. It was easy to communicate with them in English was a big help as non Spanish speaking guests.

We had a fantastic time here. The place is peaceful and so beautiful! We were in the chalet “experiencia” where it feels like you’re sleeping in the forest but you’re protected inside (lot of monkeys in the forest 😍)! Best breakfast we had in a long time! Everything is homemade, organic, healthy and also it varies each morning. Betty and Jessica are the best, it was a 5star service, they are extremely helpful and nice. They offer multiple services: laundry, massages, guide, a cook that comes over prepare your dinner, etc. We asked to have dinner there, a very kind lady came over and cooked a fantastic dinner. It is very well located not even 5min from Cahuita. Thank you Betty and Jessica, for sure we will come back.

I wish I could extend my stay in Cahujita and enjoy this little paradise. I had my blur house in the middle of the jungle, where you can connect with the nature and wildlife but at the same time being so close to the Playa Negra (7-8 min) and to the main street (5 min) where you can find all the restaurants, bars and shops. The room was very spacious, clean, with the nice terrace and hammock and kind and very helpful staff. I highly recommend this beautiful place and hope to come back again! Thank you!

The perfect place to relax, explore the wilderness around and soak in the Caribbean culture. The manager Ivon is a helpful lady who takes care of their guests, helping to sort out trips and activities, recommending restaurants and pointing to the most beautiful beaches around. Cabinas Tito is by the playa negra beach and they offer surf lessons and snorkeling tours. The national park is 5 mins away (walking distance), and so are all the main restaurants and amenities. Rooms are extremely clean (they clean the room daily), each lodge has private bathroom, fridge and AC. Parking is free and in a very safe location. They also offer a laundry cleaning service. The garden is the hidden gem of this place: walk into it to find yourself surrounded by local wildlife: howling monkeys, dendrobates frogs, sloths etc are all around you, and gently wake you up in the morning. Highly recommended for a local experience in an amazing place. We really enjoyed this place and hope to come back in the future!

The cabins were great, very clean and the pool was a nice touch. They cleaned it every day and changed the sheets every second day.
