It was the most wonderful place, a very special place, very calm, it felt very personal and exclusive The rooms were much more than just a room, having your own front door straight into the garden and pool area, they were incredibly clean and the bathroom is such a treat, it really connects you to the nature all around, absolutely fantastic and super clean also, great shower, very comfy large bed. The staff are brilliant, nothing is too much trouble and the food is fabulous, as in the rest of Sri Lanka and indeed anywhere, the local Sri lankan dishes were definitely the best and I would suggest people choose these, taste and presentation was superb. We would definitely love to come back

We absolutely loved our stay at rock shade chalet!! The rooms were very comfortable and bright. The staff were absolutely exceptional - they were so attentive and polite. It was my boyfriend’s birthday during our stay and they surprised us with a cake! They grow a lot of their own food that they use in their restaurant so it’s all fresh produce. Excellent all round

Their son, Chamee, kindly took us to visit both Pidurangala and Sigiriya — it was an unforgettable experience, perfectly organized. We also had the chance to join a fantastic cooking class with Kumani - the mother -, where we learned a lot and had so much fun. Everything was simply perfect.
