The lodge is immaculately clean.

The photos don’t quite do the room justice — it’s actually much more spacious in person. We really enjoyed the peace and greenery. The host was super friendly and even went bush to help us retrieve a lost drone!

The apartment located away from the main house is beautifully decorated. It is a dream location and just 5 minutes drive away from Whitianga. The hosts were very nice and very discreet. We enjoyed the quietness and the beauty of the place. The 3 days that we spent there were a dream part of our vacation

This is a place where you can have as much physical activity and/or relaxation activity with relaxing spa, tree top bath, swim in the swimming holes and hikes for all abilities. You do need to bring some cooking supplies for main meals which can be prepared on the BBQ or in the resort kitchen.

We liked everything about Hares Rest. The location is perfect and the Lodge is very comfortable and clean with a fabulous vista surrounded by beautiful gardens. Alli and Glyn, the hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful and they provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. The breakfast hamper Alli provided was very special and included her fresh homemade bread and granola, locally sourced fresh produce and her homemade treats, were delicious. The tranquil and relaxing environment of the lodge was fabulous and is near to Lake Taupo and a number of attractions in the surrounding area.I would not hesitate in recommending Hares Rest.
