It’s stunning in pictures, but even more breathtaking up close. The view from the pool is surreal, and it’s a treat to dine and drink outside. You’re a few kilometres away from town, which is great for disconnecting from the usual humdrum of shops and tourists. Huy took great care of us, helped book a reasonably priced boat tour, and made us feel right at home. Breakfast and the a la carte dinner of Vietnamese fare were both delicious. If you’re in Cat Ba, this is a great place to stay for a different experience than the usual.

Scooter rental is cheap, so you can easily tour the island or just visit the town. Definitively a recommandation!

There is a private bathroom with shower in every unit, along with free toiletries, a hairdryer and slippers. It was easy to arrive. The rooms and breakfast as advertised. All very clean. All the arrangements to explore Cat Ba Park were done with them, as any other activities. Pricing was good. Around the homestay there are 3 bars with food, and the bus to cat ba city is 5min walk.

Scooter rental, washing service and food available at the accommodation which was very convenient. Hands down the cleanest and best maintained pool I had the pleasure of swimming in in South East Asia and the complimentary breakfast was very generous. The owner was lovely and very helpful!!

The location was perfect for us to explore the village on a scooter/motorbike (which they have available for rent). It's in a quiet neighborhood on a hill, which is located in hidden valley. The landscaping and grounds are beautiful with an abundance of flowering plants, and jackfruit trees that make the property feel like an eco-resort. The staff works tirelessly to keep everything in perfect condition - everyone seemed to be working around the clock. The included breakfast was very good — with a choice of a beverage and a choice of food and always served with a plate of fresh fruit. We also enjoyed a couple of other meals there and everything we ordered was delicious. Most of all our host, Mr. Chilly was everything you could ask for in a great host. He was super-friendly and assisted us with anything we needed from providing suggestions for things to do in Cat Ba to arranging travel for us back to our Hanoi . We would highly recommend Lan Homestay and will stay here again next time we come to Cat Ba.
