Everything about the property was just quaint and lovely. The room was so cute and quaint, the property was gorgeous in the middle of this lush forest. So remote, I could hear the peacocks somewhere on the property. There’s a lovely sitting area outside of the room with a Koi pond. There were chairs in the patio to just relax on. The room was so cozy and beautiful! The bathroom was massive and gorgeous. The staff were so sweet and helpful.

It was exceptional. The staff was professional and attentive and made us feel very welcome. The whole resort was clean, spacious and beautifully designed. It's located in a small forest with butterflies, pheasants, a variety of wild birds and cute chickens. You can take a walk, play badminton, go to the nearby lake or visit the temples in anuradhapura or mihintale - it's very close. The hosts can arrange tours as well - we went to Anuradhapura with a guide and it was very fun and a fair price. Also the food: try the Sri Lankan breakfast it's delicious! We loved the tree house - it was so relaxing when it was rainy. They even offered room service. :) long story short - a must stay. Ps: please note that there is nature around. It's a tree house in a jungle-like forest. There are occasionally frogs and other visitors on your terrace. We loved it though.

My stay at Woodland Sanctuary was absolutely wonderful! The place is surrounded by lush greenery, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The wooden family suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and had a cozy, natural feel. The hospitality was top-notch—friendly hosts, delicious food, and great attention to detail. The location was perfect for exploring nearby attractions like Sigiriya and Minneriya National Park. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a unique and tranquil stay in nature. Can’t wait to return!

The place was really incredible and ideal for couples - private pool! The breakfast was very delicious. Very interesting things to do around like safari and sightseeing - organised by the hotel!

Hotel 5-bintang ini menawarkan khidmat bilik.... First: huge room as you see it , bed big and comfy, all you need is there. In addition the setting is perfect, far from main roads, it is quiet, no car noise, no pollution, immerse in a garden with Coco and banana plants, you wake up with birds singing. there are even the srilanka squirrels! Not sure the name.. Archeological park is far from town and huge, therefore you need a mean of transport anyway... But the most important thing were Ishani and her family. i was booking places for our holiday, when I saw this place and I decided that I was going to book all places run by local families, in order to know them more, the culture, the food. Also I know that srilanka people are very nice and I think they deserve to be known and to be rewarded directly. But I couldn't imagine we were going to feel so well here! They are all so incredibly nice. We had srilanka breakfast and dinner for the 3days prepared by them, great! I suggested them to set cooking classes! The big surprise was that they speak also Italian! So we chat in English and Italian! Leaving this morning was not easy, we felt at home. And I really wishto see them again. For sure we'll keep in touch. I don't think it'll be possible to match this great welcoming place during this trip.

We found it incredibly convenient to visit Sigiriya, Minneriya National Park, and Polonnaruwa. If you're looking for a relaxing, well-located, and truly memorable stay in Sri Lanka, Sun Shade Resort is an absolute must.

The room is clean and big. The food is delicious and the owner are so kind, helpfull and frirndly. They help me a lot to organise my stay and visit. I really recommend this place. I love staying in this lovely place and I'll definitely come back !
