This is one of the best places i have ever stayed. The location is very close to the volcanoes national park center, the house is beautiful and well structured, the caretaker is amazing and even the possibility to order (super tasty) dinner from the main hotel is a great add-on. Of course, all of this is topped by the fact that staying here means you support a very nice organisation, which is doing a remarkable job. This is one of my most straight-forward recommendations, there is no way i am back in Rwanda and don’t visit it.

The rooms are spacious, the staff is absolutely wonderful and the food...wow! The entire meal time is an experience by itself. I also loved the idea of sharing the table with the other guests, which gave us an opportunity to meet new people and hear new stories. It felt like home away from home.

Hotel non troppo lussuoso ma molto coerente con il contesto, e comunque con camere spaziose e affascinanti (ogni pomeriggio veniva un ragazzo ad accenderci il fuoco in camera e darci le borse dell’acqua calda). Ci hanno aiutato moltissimo nell’organizzazione dell’intera vacanza (acquisto ticket gorilla e accompagnatore, transfer da/per Kigali con driver Fred eccezionale e tour della città). Apprezzato il massaggio ai piedi gratuito post trekking gorilla. Il tour dei gorilla non necessità di molte parole: INCREDIBILE!

I stayed in a safari tent and it is SO beautiful. I could have stayed for days. Very warm and clean. The guys who own and run it are actually Rwandan locals, as opposed to rich foreigners everywhere else so it’s really great to be able to support local businesses. A super nice young guy who has built it up from just some small tents to what it is today. Amazing value, wonderful warm and friendly service and super comfortable. The photos online do not do it justice.

The location and gardens are amazing and the staff very professional, friendly and helpful. Their chef is a wizard in the kitchen and the meals expertly prepared. And then there is the resident fur baby - Sparky, who welcomes you to the property! The Lodge is also conveniently located close to the Volcanoes National Park and there are little touches such as preparing snacks to take with when you go gorilla trekking and cleaning muddy boots that make the stay extra special. The lounge and dining areas are spacious and well-appointed. My room was huge and in the evenings the staff add warm water bottles to your bed and light a fire so the room is cosy when you return from dinner.
