The first Alfred Hotels location cultivates a soft and subdued atmosphere, blending the charm of a family home with the timeless appeal of a country inn. The room was accurately described and more than met expectations. We had the unexpected bonus of air-con which we didn't expect (not sure many rooms have it) and was much appreciated as the week we stayed was really hot. The hotel is located centrally and parking is not a problem (our car was large so we opted for the free parking by the river nearby). The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the breakfast, whilst not featuring the hugest range of choices, was all of good quality and tasty.

We could not have wished for a better stay at the end of our vacation. Alexia and Adrien were wonderfully warm and kind hosts, who make guests feel at home. We loved the very generous and relaxing breakfast each morning around the large dining table, chatting with other guests (there were also a couple of smaller tables available). We also made use of a very comfortable guest lounge, with guides and other books. The chateau, furnishings and design are stunning! Our bedroom (and adjoining bathroom) was one of the best we have stayed in, with a very comfortable bed. We were also encouraged to share the large and beautiful garden, where we had a welcome drink from Alexia. The chateau is very well located for travel to/from Calais, and there is plenty to do in the area. We particularly enjoyed visiting Le Touquet. Excellent suggestions for restaurants from Alexia. Fabulous, spacious, good wi-fi, there are no bars or restaurants nearby, we cooked in a well stocked kitchen (oils and spices were in the cupboards) We only stayed one night, but had a lovely time in the garden before dinner, enjoying a glass of wine watching the geese run around… Will definitely return!!!!
