I loved everything about this place and wished I would have stayed for weeks! The room was big, clean, comfortable with an amazing view on the lake, especially at sunset and sunrise, when you can see a lot of birds (among which green parakeets, red-lored parrots, etc.). There were mosquito nets, but I didn’t see a single mosquito throughout my 3-night stay. The AC was quiet and worked perfectly, and the room had great Wi-Fi I used for a work video call. The room comes with a balcony, where you can find a table, chairs and hammock. There is also a kitchen you can use in common spaces. Umberto is an amazing host! He is very kind and helped me throughout my stay, even offering to lend me money when I had trouble withdrawing from the ATM, which I really appreciated in this stressful situation. He arranged my tours to Yaxha and Tikal, and the hotel’s location is very convenient, right where shuttle and colectivos stop and just in front of El Remate’s only ATM. It is a 5 min walk from the laundry shop, and within a 5 min walk from many great cafes and restaurants (Cahui, La Puerto, Casa de Don David, Doña Mari, etc.). I hesitated between staying in El Remate or Flores, but now that I have been to both, I am happy that I got to experience a quieter side of Lake Petén, with better sunset views and amazing restaurants, closer to Tikal and Yaxha archaeological sites. Highly recommended!

Super nice hosts, very helpful, great hospitality! Besides the hotel the hosts are working on a project for the benefit of the local community (including a French language school for kids, regular clean up activities, ...) - both have a very inspiring energy!:) The place itself is very nice and comfy, with a great rooftop terrace where a small, but very delicious breakfast is served at an extra cost.

Las Luciernagas Hotel mempunyai kolam renang luaran, taman, kawasan pantai peribadi dan restoran di Flores. Absolutely beautiful hotel with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, the grounds were GORGEOUS, rooms were impeccably clean, and their many lake-front decks and lounging areas made it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We were in Guatemala during a heat wave and we were SO thankful to be staying at Luciernagas where we could float and relax in the lake or the pool instead of in Flores itself where the heat was quite oppressive. Guests can get to town and back with a free hourly boat. This was our favorite place we stayed during our Central America trip and an excellent place to unwind. The hotel has inner tubes, kayaks, plenty of hammocks, a friendly dog (Fibo!), and plenty of friendly staff to make you feel right at home. Really, really loved this place and highly recommend.

Facing the Peten Lake in El Remate, Hotel Mon Ami features a terrace. The property boasts a restaurant that serves Guatemalan and French food. Very cute bungalow (close to the Peten Lake even though the lake was 1 m above normal tide). We loved talking to the owner, the bungalow was super cozy and pretty (had the one most above) and all seemed very new.

Incredible and comfortable jungle cabañas in a green environment with great services and great restaurant. Staff very kind and friendly. Good position for who is moving back and forth between Flores and Rio Dulce.
