Canadian family of four, needing a break (and fresh air) from Bangkok. We had a wonderful time at the Vala and felt welcomed from the second we arrived. I had sent a text ahead of time indicating that I had to follow a very complicated and strict medical diet due to cancer complications. The minute we arrived to our room, a staff member (P’Jib) from the restaurant came to see us and seek details about the diet. I was told that they would absolutely accommodate and they did, for 3 meals a day during the entire stay. The food was wonderful and I felt welcomed by all staff the entire time. To think that I had almost cancelled the trip because of this strict diet, assuming that the hotel would not want or be able to cater to this added complications. This place is a gem, so is P’Jib (I hope I am spelling her name correctly!) and all the staff at the restaurant, the reception desk and the cleaning crew. My only regret is that I wasn’t able to see P’Jib on our final day there in order to hug her one more time and let her know how much her kindness meant to me, (it was more than about the great food), and that her level of empathy for the difficult health journey I was on had been a breath of fresh air.

When we arrived everything was ready and clean. The experience here is amazing, weather you’re in a boathouse or staying in the super nostalgic Africa themed rooms available on the property. There is a tasteful experience here that you can really feel the whole time, and especially on a nice cool morning stroll. Not to mention the delicious Chinese sausage dish for breakfast, it’s heavenly.

I am genuinely going to miss Pam and her family. My entire stay at Home Jano felt like being part of a beautiful movie. Lazy afternoon swims in the pool, delicious papaya salad for breakfast, quiet evenings in the cosy café in the garden—and above all, the incredible kindness of the hosts. On my first day, they arranged a bicycle for me as I preferred not to use a scooter. Every day, they treated me to something extra—fruit platters, sweets, and a hundred smiles. The place was wonderfully quiet and spotlessly clean. The entire village is unlike many others—no rubbish, no noise. Reaching the beach by bicycle took no more than six minutes, though sometimes it was even nicer to stay in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the pool. Pam truly made me feel like part of her family. I am incredibly grateful for this experience. Let me know if you’d like to adjust the tone further!

Plan your next adventure at our beachside resort near the captivating Royal coastal town of Hua Hin just a two and a half hour’s drive from Bangkok. This hotel and pool were exceptional. Rooms with an ocean view at affordable prices. We stayed 4 nights. The breakfast buffet was great and the pools and waterslide were great fun. Down the street are a variety of restaurants or just order pizza at the restaurant onsite. The staff were very friendly and did their job well. The beds were comfortable and the shower amazing. Parking was easy and free. There was nice music in the lobby. I will definitely return again. Kop Khun naka.
