The hotel staff was very attentive and friendly, and they were happy to offer advice on anything we needed. The breakfasts were excellent. The rooms were clean and new. The receptionist, Ms. Merna, was very kind and friendly—she also advised us whenever we needed help. If I ever return to Luxor, I will definitely stay at this hotel again.

My mum and I stayed 5 nights and had a great stay. The room and the balcony are spacious. Bathroom is good too. We really enjoyed the rooftop top and the beautiful view of the Nile and Luxor on one side and the Valley of the Kings on the other side. The hotel is very close to the public ferry and it’s very easy to cross the Nile. Staff members were very friendly and they always made sure we had everything we needed. Big thank you to Ashraf and Abdel.

The location and facilities were great. It’s a no frills hotel with a good restaurant and a good pool (we did not use it). The rooms were spacious and clean. It looks much more beautiful than in the pictures. The staff is a big family and they treat you like a family member so the atmosphere is very warm and you feel like home. Also helping with all your plans and more. The location is perfect if you wish to stay at a quiet area in Luxor where you can safely walk in the nature or at the bank of the Nile. They also have a bio garden where they grow the veges for the meals. I recommend this hotel from my heart.

It was a pleasure staying at Nour El Balad. It’s beautifully decorated and feels very authentic. It’s quiet and peaceful, the staff were friendly and the food was amazing. We had both breakfast and dinner which I highly recommend. The surrounding area is beautiful and the locals are very nice. Highly recommended for when you’re visiting the sights on the West Bank.

    The staff and the restaurant. In the evening, the restaurant is like paradise with a view over Luxor on the other bank. Many people, foreigners & Egyptians alike, come for dinner or just a beer after work. The food is delicious. This morning I went by taxi to the Valley of the Kings, I asked for it at reception. The driver was punctual at 5:30, meaning I was on-site for the opening and could enjoy being there alone in the tumbs at sunrise from 6 to 7am. The taxi driver was respectful and never tried to scam more unwanted services or backschich out of me. The staff prepared a breakfast box to take away, which at first I didn't want, but was happy to find and eat in the taxi. In the afternoon they let me have a nap, shower and pack my luggage, checking out at 6pm to take my train to Aswan.

    A better location can not be found. Central and very quite. We had a Nile view room which well worth the higher price. Stunning view over the river with cruising ships and feluccas passing by, and Queen and King valley on the other side. Beautiful garden with a large heated pool aside the river. Very professional and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and main meals (new year's eve dinner was memorable with no extra charge). Strongly recommended

    I thought Luxor temple was much better than the pyramids.

    I thought Luxor temple was much better than the pyramids. The taxi driver at the airport Mohamed, was very friendly and came back to collect us on time. There was a man with a horse carriage that was relentless and a liar for about 10 minutes, non-stop from the hotel to the entrance of the temple. We were the only ones walking the full avenue from Luxor temple to Karnak but it was worth it because it was peaceful and the guards were friendly. We would have liked to stroll at night time on the promenade but as soon as you were stepping outside the hotel, you were targeted by scammers. The hotel had good facilities, good food and a good swimming pool but it would have been good to enjoy a bit more freedom like in any other tourist destination.

    Luxor sites are great must see for travelers who loves ancient Egyptian sites. Many beautiful experiences. But unless you've got the a full time tour/handler, be prepared for the endless stream of people looking to siphon some of your pocket and time. We're 'do it yourself' kind of travelers and did so without serious issue; It takes street smarts and awareness. People generally are kind and warm and Luxor has a lot to offer. A driver/guide is essential for the West Bank sites though, many things to navigate and difficult without someone versed in the area and processes.

    Just a great city to visit All monuments ,valley of the kings,temples are all close by The people are great as well You do get the hassle But then you get that where ever you go I get to meet all sorts of people and nationalities Achti used to belong to the Sheraton group The standards have not changed in all the years I’ve been coming Look for mr zakaria in the restaurant he is very helpful with anything you need he speaks good English
