FAQs about hotels on Fuerteventura
Ride its Warm Wave
With streches of long, sandy beaches and a great setting for watersports, Fuerteventura has established itself as a year-round beach holiday destination.
Set across the Atlantic from Lobos Island and Lanzarote beyond, Corralejo is one of the most popular Fuerteventura resorts. Its long sand dunes are favoured by families, while offshore the waves are great for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Surfing is also great here and at El Cotillo, a fishing village around the coast.
Although Fuerteventura is the 2nd largest of the Canary Islands, its landscape is largely unspoilt, meaning that you will find most Fuerteventura hotels by the beach. But the inland towns of La Oliva and Betancuria with traditional windmills set amid undulating, volcanic scenery offer pleasant sights away from the beach. The island’s highest point is Mount Jandia, in its own natural park in the south.
At its feet is the long beach connecting Morro Jable and Jandia, while to the north Costa Calma is a relaxed resort that certainly lives up to its name. Just south of El Mattoral Airport are Costa de Antigua and Costa Caleta de Fuste, home to a castle and a good number of 5-star Fuerteventura hotels on Booking.com. On the opposite side of the airport is the capital Puerto del Rosario, starting point for ferries to the other Canaries.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 696 reviewsThe place has style - Elegant, solid, and calming. Food? Always available. Convenient. Not haute cuisine, but if you're not expecting Michelin stars to descend on a remote volcanic island, you’ll be just fine. I went solo on a windsurfing trip, and the hotel ticked all my boxes: comfy, clean, calm, and with enough decent food to keep me upright on a board for hours. Now, to those legendary one-star reviews floating around out there... let’s address a few of the greatest hits: "It's remote and there's nothing to do." Well, yes. It's called Fuerteventura, not Ibiza-on-Steroids. The whole charm of the island is its beautiful remoteness. It’s like Sahara, but with showers, WiFi, and a very decent roads. The hotel knows it’s not in the middle of a bustling metropolis and does its best: activities, live music, a decent disco, and electric scooters to zip around Costa Calma like you're in a PG-rated action movie. Want more? Rent a car, discover moon-like landscapes, and embrace the fact that “nothing to do” is actually code for “peace and quiet.” "The food is bland / not enough salt / not to my taste." Right. So it's not a 5-star restaurant in Madrid or Rome –I found the meals quite decent, balanced, and flavourful enough that I didn’t have to drown them in mystery sauces. And if your palate is that “refined”, maybe use a salt shaker? "Staff are rude / not nice" That was not what I experienced. Treat people with respect and you get same back. Not a single negative experience in my 7 days! Perhaps not everyone shares my holiday-fuelled enthusiasm, but for the basic pay the staff at the hotel did a fantastic job and my causal "buenas" and "gracias" always went a long way. "Too expensive for what it is." Are we... on the same continent? For €120 a day (sea-view room in June), two people get a 3-course meal, amazing settings and the entertanement... wake up!Guest review byLanaIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 101 reviewsIt was in many ways the perfect combination of a hotel and a villa. You had your own private pool and hot tub, and a huge, largely private rooftop space for dining or sunbathing - and your own kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine and dining area - yet with the facilities of a hotel when you wanted them. I would get sick of eating catered food three times a day - so you can simply walk to the local large shop and restock your fridge. We loved it. It was immensely relaxing.Guest review byRoderickUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 6.8Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 812 reviewsStaff were wonderful. At reception, in the restaurant, at the bar. The cleaning staff everyone smiling. Always saying Hola and remembering our names. Also pool area was very relaxing and clean. Good choice of food for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Tea and coffee and drinks available all day at pool bar. Very close to the wonderful beach in morro jable and a short walk to the old town.. Plenty of shops and restaurants, bars along the main strip not far from the hotel.Guest review byJosephIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,991 reviewsAll is perfect for the price paid. The staff is nice. We really enjoyed our stay. We will come back here if one dy we come back to Fuerteventura. I see a lot of comments saying "Food is not ok, blablabla..." but guys... it is a all inclusive. If you want very tasty food, go to a local restaurant. Even the free WIFI was ok. I was here for a "business" trip and could able to manage visio meeting without trouble. The sport bar was perfect to watch World Cup games.Guest review byJulienFrance

Everything is in walking distance, the old town comes alive at night with outside music and lively restaurants and bars with great choice for everyone. Its worth taking a trip out to coco beach 2kms away, a beautiful beach of true beauty and for safe swimming and where sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented along with a small beach bar.Guest review byaidanIreland - 10.0

This is an amazing place, but unfortunately, every year there are more and more tourists and more and more hotels here. The beaches are endless, the ocean is crystal clear. But there's almost always a wind and the temperature fluctuates. A large promenade with shops, good shopping at reasonable prices.Guest review byOmacatl72Czech Republic - 8.0

This beach is absolutely stunning—wide, long, and covered in soft, golden sand. It’s ideal for long walks, jogging, or even a refreshing run along the shore. The sand is firm enough in some areas to make running comfortable, while the open space allows for uninterrupted movement. The crystal-clear water and the clean, well-maintained environment make it a pleasure to spend time here. It’s never overcrowded, so you can fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The fact that it has been awarded the Blue Flag for 2024/25 speaks to its quality and cleanliness. Whether you want to relax, take in the views, or stay active, this beach offers the perfect setting. Highly recommended!Guest review byIvkaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Nice, busy, authentically Canarian town. Not a resort.
Nice, busy, authentically Canarian town. Not a resort. There are ( apart from days when cruise ships come in ) few non-Spanish voices to be heard. A real place, which has little of the artificiality of resorts. As such, it would not appeal to everyone. Great shopping and lots of good restaurants. There is a large shopping mall with good shops in it. A bit hilly, however. The front is interesting and enjoyable to walk along. And everyone is friendly!Guest review byry95United Kingdom - 8.0

Ideal place for some warmth and sun and a good place to relax. Close to Caleta de fuste if you want to find a few more things to do such as beach, marina, shops and restuarants. Would probably suit more mature people than younger folk as there is not much to do in the actaul resort other than eat and drink, however Caleta de fuste is only a 5 minute drive away or 25 minute slow walk and that area offers more for families and younger couples/singles.Guest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0
El Cotillo is a beautiful village that we have been visiting...
El Cotillo is a beautiful village that we have been visiting for 18 years now. It is not full of karaoke bars and English pubs as we like to experience the local culture. There are many restaurants to try out and all of good quality and reasonable prices. The locals do appreciate if you attempt to speak their language which we always do as I think it is a respectful thing to do. My only concern for this amazing village is the number of new apartments they are now building and whether the charms of the village will be overtaken by large scale tourism.Guest review byALISONUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a lovely little traditional village. A lot of the restaurants are closed on Sundays and Mondays which was a bit of a pain but only because there were so many to experience! It is well situated, near beaches but you do need a car.Guest review byHollieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
