- From US$72.47 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.8Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 2,493 reviewsThe manager’s service was beyond my expectations. Went out if his way to provide me with a lovely room that was so comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. He went above and beyond on a very busy night due to Ascot races patrons booking in. I really appreciated the care, friendliness and service provided by all of the staff while I waited for my room. I had a late checkout and the quiet and peace was amazing! The grounds were lovely and obviously the whole hotel is being taken care of and refurbished so nicely! Even the security guys were helpful and very friendly. I would love to stay there again. It has history and elegance if it’s time. Absolutely loved my stay. Thankyou all so very much Much appreciation CarolineGuest review byCarolineAustralia

Winchester’s history, the Cathedral has to be right up there, it was incredible and would definitely go back, there were some beautiful walks nearby, along the river Itchen, and very clean. It’s very easy getting around, the train station is minutes away( 7 minutes to the airport 😉) So many pkaces to eat, The Vine did an amazing veggie breakfast and loved the Royal Oak pub, oldest in England.Guest review bySoniaJersey - 8.0

The Aldershot Military Museum is excellent with much information about the area as well as military matters. Also I recommend the FAST Museum, which is full of aeronautical science and aviation history. NB these museums are not open every day.Guest review byCatharineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose.
Fir tree lodge room 8 not fit for purpose. Noise heard from neighbouring rooms and bed stuck against wall! Whole hotel is very dated and a bit too business/conference based rather than comfy/cosy country hotel which it should be. Staff very friendly though and breakfast was enjoyable.Guest review byKevinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The Saturday market is worth a visit and there are lots of places to stop for coffee, breakfast and lunch. Walk down the cobbled street to the harbour and enjoy watching the boats. There are also quite a few independent shops. Just along the coast there is a nice walk along Hurst Spit to the fort or you can get the ferry. Lots of walks around nearby Brockenhurst too.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Lyndhurst is mainly a one high street town.
Lyndhurst is mainly a one high street town. The traffic is continuous making it difficult to navigate on foot. I wouldn't recommend it as a destination. But The New Forest is spectacular however car drivers need to obey the rules of the Forest when parking and only use the many car parks.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved my stay at the Alton House Hotel, as I have never been to Alton before the staff were polite friendly and extremely helpful, I also made two new friends whilst I was there which is truly fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to any one that asked as in my eye's there is no better place or people.Guest review byRobb - 8.0

The town is very quiet and even on a Saturday seems to be dying on it's feet but there are numerous pubs and several reasonably priced restaurants (we were very happy with Frango's and The Golden Dragon. The Andover Tap is worth a call for real ale drinkers. on the positive side, there were no gangs roaming the streets and we felt very safe, Also, their British Legion(open to visitors) has music on a Saturday night and has been very well refurbished. The staff , members we met and the Secretary Sarah were very welcoming. We'd say that Andover is better used as a good base for travelling round the area.Guest review byGregUnited Kingdom - 6.0

local Gulshan Indian to be given a wide berth overpriced and didn't understand English too well. The local pub the Oatsheaf served Doom bar and had a lovely back garden well shaded but still sunny with helpful staff ,though no sandwiches or small meals on offer at weekends crisps only or a very large garlic pizzetta!!, Town appears to have its usual smattering of local shops and amenities.Guest review byJulianUnited Kingdom
